Stussy.

October 30th, 2009

Just incase you were unaware, Stussy is now in the shop.  We got a small little run so don’t sleep , expect more in the coming weeks.  This tonal jacket is super simple, but fly as hell.  And the graphic tees are always a stussy classic.

I really enjoy how the Berrics not only provides great skateboarding footage, but also gives an insight into their operation a little bit.  I personally like the behind the scenes look into how the berrics is run or when berra heads over to a company.  It gives people an insight into the skateboard industry but also gives people something to maybe strive for.  Not every skateboarder is going to be a pro, but to have skateboarding in your life is very possible. Keep up the solid work berrics.  Check out the video about to peep Stereo’s operation.

Brand Spot: In4mation

October 29th, 2009

Picture 18

In4mation is a brand we carry here at FFS.  Not only are they a great brand but also have helped me here in the shop. As they are seasoned vets in the industry, they’re this weeks spotlight so they get theirs from our island.  In4mation is owned by a group of 4 dudes from Hawaii who just plain kill it.  From their graphics to their cut and sew pieces I think they are one of the best brands around. As far as quality and creativity, the In4mants don’t fall short of the top.  Personally I really like how they are not afraid to keep their Hawaiian roots in a lot of their pieces.  We just recieved their holiday collection and you can put your money on that it will go quick as did fall.  We have stock in all these pieces but they move quick so don’t sleep.  Nothing over the top, subtle but original, and always fresh.  Keep up the good work boys. More flicks of my favorite pieces we carry on the next page.. Come by to see the rest.

LIHC

October 26th, 2009

This is going to a bit longer of a post and a little in depth so take your adderol and stay focused.  As you may or may not know, FFS both in terms of the shop and brand have deep roots in music, art, skateboarding and surfing.  A large influence comes from  the music scene here on Long Island growing up.  No, not Debbie Gibson and Billy Joel, but for a long time the punk hardcore scene here on LI was unreal.  Going to shows, listening to brutal breakdowns and moshing with your life in your hands was a lifestyle to some people here on the island.  Bands that ruled my life were the likes of Silent Majority, The Movielife , V.O.D , GlassJAw and many others.  Being younger then most of these guys I missed out on probably the better days, but I still got my taste and loved every second of it.  Respecting the dudes that were the precursor to the bands I loved was also important to me, like the Weebles and Mind Over Matter.

A few weeks back I got word that the weebles were playing a reunion show, and that my buddy Vinnie( I Am The Avalanche/ex The Movielife) was going to play a bunch of covers and Tim (V.O.D) was going to play some songs as well.  After closing up raced over there and thankfully didn’t miss anything.  Thank God I didn’t because the setlist they played was unreal.  To top it off, my personal favorite point of the night is when Tommy Corrigan came out and they played an Silent Majority song being they are my favorite band ever.  Getting to see grown man mosh to songs they haven’t seen live in probably 10 years is an incredible thing.  It was a really dope night to see a bunch of people real stoked to be at this show.

Some people won’t understand this post at all or think it is cheesy.  I just wanted to give a little insight on to where I get some of my inspiration.  Pictures coming soon hopefully..

Doom & Gloom

October 23rd, 2009

After yesterdays epic weather, today it is pretty grey and cold out there.  Tomorrow is the Bellmore Street Fair although it is supposed to rain it looks like people are still setting up for it.  We will be open , lots of stuff on sale, give a ways, tons of goodies.  The street is closed so walk on by.  It runs tomorrow and sunday.  Come on down say what’s up.

Weak post I know, my hands are cold cause LIPA sucks and has gotten my money but yet to put my heat on.

Stay gully.

peace.

Behind The Scenes.

October 21st, 2009

Yesterday, Adam stopped by the shop.  I met Adam when writing for Culture Shoq.. These days he pretty much is the man behind the scenes and actually in front of the scenes killing it for them.  Daily he puts up well written posts, about everything and anything.  It’s definitely tougher then you think. He also knows more about dope sneakers then you, and probably has everything you want.   Like these..

Hip Hop Is Definitely Dead

October 20th, 2009

Yesterday this was posted up on Nah Right. Birdman, today you get the Gasface.  How can he even compare Lil Wayne and Jay-Z.  I personally love how he says that Lil Wayne is the best MC, and that whoever makes the most money is the best.  Unless new comer Drake and Lil Wayne come out and say something I am going to safely assume they agree with Birdman’s comments.  That being said, young money you’re a bunch of clowns.  I am actually super bummed Jay-Z but Drake on his album.  Everyone who is on Lil Wayne and Drake need to pump their brakes.  Birdman stop buying jewelry and learn what real hip-hop is.

Rant of the day..
